Old Dairy Barn
This lovely detached, upside down barn conversion has an open planned living / kitchen area.
A fully equipped kitchen with a gas cooker, integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
Joining this is a small utility room where you will find a washer/dryer and a sink for muddy boots!
Through the glazed door you will find a secure and private garden with an area of decking complete with garden furniture and a barbeque.
In the living area there is a gas effect wood burner with spectacular views to be enjoyed out of the living area window.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are found on the ground floor of the cottage.
The master bedroom has a super king size bed, which is two zip and link beds which can be made into a twin if required, please request this at time of booking. You will find an en-suite shower room with WC & basin.
The second bedroom which is a twin room which is also two zip & link beds, if required can be made into a Super king, please request this at time of booking.
The family bathroom you will find a walk in shower, bath, toilet and sink.
The cottage has oil fired central heating throughout.
There is room for a travel cot in either bedroom – if you require a cot and high chairs please requested at time of booking. Bed arrangements must also be requested at time of booking.
You can enjoy many wonderful walks straight from the front door of Old Dairy Barn on public footpaths, including some exclusive routes on private Estate ground for our staying guests including up to Swincombe Reservoir and up on to the moor, with panoramic views to South Wales, Lundy Island and Dartmoor. Herds of Red Deer can frequently be seen grazing on the moor, and for the bird watchers there are Buzzards, Kites, Snipe and Woodcocks to be spotted.
In the village you will find the Black Venus Pub, voted best pub in North Devon. They serve delicious locally produced meals, and it is within walking distance of the cottage (remember to take the torch for the walk back).
Challacombe Post Office and Store keeps all the essentials, this is where our welcome packs come from. They also serve cream teas in the afternoon, again within walking distance from the cottage.
